Camp Kaitawa

On Monday we went kayaking, we went in the tubes and swimming in Lake Wherowhero.  I played kayak tag with Mya and Eva.

It was my first time kayaking, I had heaps of fun.
Then we went rock hopping. We jumped on heaps of rocks. There was one hard one but the rest was easy. I enjoyed that. At night we went to see glow worms, there wasn't that many, but I still liked it.

On Tuesday we got to choose if we wanted to do the stupid challenge at Lake Kiriopukae.  It was a really big walk up the hill. We did a stupid challenge when we had to stay under water for forty seconds.

At the confidence course we had to climb over a wall, either a high one or a low wall.

Animal Enclosure

My Creature is:
A Sea horse
Some things I needed to consider about my creature is It needs water, a place it can curl its tail around. It needs seahorse food and cold water.
I needed to make a play area for my pet.
My enclosure has these special features for my pet:
My enclosure has a hut for it to play and sleep in. I have a green pipe for it to curl around and a place for it to hide.
What I am pleased about:
How I made it because it turned out how I wanted it to.
I used the managing distractions and persevering building learning muscles to make my project.
What I have found tricky:
I found it tricky to find out what I could make for it.
What I would like to improve:
I would like to improve making more stuff like things it can do. It was hard because seahorses don’t need very much stuff.

This is dinner in a fire pit.  It is cooking.

I enjoyed making dinner and pudding.
We had to choose from orange chocolate or banana boat.
And I chose banana boat.
We had so much fun.
We even got cabins so we did not have to sleep in tents.
Thank you parents that came to Camp Omatua.
We wouldn't have gone if the parents didn't come.
When it was night time the lights were covered in moths.
We even got to watch a movie called Paddington Bear.
School is cool.  We played Vince’s surprise.

Zzzzzzz, Kaden was snoring like an elephant. "Wake up Kaden, time to get breakfast" I say.  Then my Aunty Lindsay came in. "Are you ready to go for a ride? " she said (me not noticing anything). "What's going on?" I  said. I felt like I was being left out because I didn't know what was going on. I went out side and started getting upset .Then my nana asked me what's wrong. I said "noone's telling me what's happening".  Then I found out the surprise...we were going to Laser Force. We had an amazing time and it was fun to hang out with my family.

Ashle's Art Blurb

My artwork is inspired by Shane Hansen, a NZ artist. My art represents my family because of the 11 korus. Each koru represents one person in my family. The kea is just hanging out on a branch watching the sunset silently. I used complimentary colours (e.g. blue and green).  The day is passing by and the bird is still sitting and watching.

Visual Art

This week we have been doing Visual Art with Mr Cooper. We have been learning how to tint and to shade. Tinting is making the colour lighter and shading is making the colour  darker.

Fun Run

On the 20th of August we got to choose if we wanted to do a competitive race or the fun run.  I did a fun run.   It had 'obstacles' in it like a maze, a spiral and some hurdles. I came 12th in the fun run. Everyone had a great time. It was so fun'. It felt like the best day ever. When I went in the maze I thought I was getting lost but finally i found my way out. I was really tired at the end but I felt good. It was awesome having Steph there to support me.
